DARTS HISTORY – DR. DARTS’ NEWSLETTER (DDN)/DARTS HISTORY)

Back in 2010 I published the very first issue of Dr. Darts’ Newsletter (DDN) (recently retitled Darts History in 2023) which brought a handful of my friends and fellow darts fans up to date with my research into the history of the great sport of darts. Since then the circulation has expanded beyond my wildest dreams and Darts History now has subscribers in over 120 countries and, as of 7th August 2026, coming up to 200 issues have been published.

Having been established for over fifteen years Darts History is not totally reliant on my personal darts research but flourishes due to the questions I am asked (either via Darts History or through my Contact page) and feedback I receive from subscribers following the publication of each issue.

Darts History is not a Blog in the strictest sense of the word.

Up until recently Darts History was only available only to those who wished to subscribe and is sent out monthly via e-mail. That way Darts History remained exclusive to those who are genuinely interested in darts and darts history.

Darts History is absolutely FREE.

To sign up to Darts History you can contact me direct at drdarts161@patrickchaplin.com or through my Contact page and I will add you to the list. If you then find that DDN is not for you then simply drop me an e-mail and I will remove you from it..

HOWEVER after much soul-searching and consideration, I decided that from 10th August, 2026 the full back catalogue of Darts History will be made available globally. This is being facilitated by working with David King of Darts501.com. Merely click on the link below to reveal every Darts History to date

https://darts501.com/patrick-chaplin.html

As new issues of Darts History are published they will be added to the site.

In the past it has not been possible for me to send enquirers back issues but, now, this new facility gives you the the ability to select and download those you may be missing.

Lastly, f you wish to subscribe to Darts History direct and be the first to receive every issue, just subscribe in the normal way. The choice is yours.

I am very pleased to be working with David King on this special project and sincerely thank him for everything. We are hoping that this now global access to Darts History from Day One plus 300+ articles available on this, my website, will help spread the real history of the sport we all love.

Best wishes and Game On!

NOTE: In 2023 I renamed Dr. Darts’ Newsletter (DDN) Darts History. After more than a decade of the name DDN and change was needed simply to reflect the fact that, in the main, that was what Dr. Darts’ Newsletter has grown to be all about. Of course, I will continue to write about modern darts (for example Luke Littler’s amazing impact on the sport) but, in the main, I will always focus on history of darts before the year 2000
