Winmau and Novo-Parts sponsor Hungary’s hottest darts talent - Zsofia Lazar
Winmau and their Hungarian distributor Novo-Parts are proud to announce their signing of Hungary’s Zsofia Lazar on a three year sponsorship deal that will run until 2011. Zsofia’s rise up the Hungarian Darts Federation rankings has been steady as she continues to focus on getting into more International ranking events, and Winmau are really happy to support her in this ambition. As a serious athlete, ballet dancer and volleyball player Zsofia suffered severe tonsillitis in 2001, undergoing a major operation. During her recovery Zsofia went to her local darts club and played for the first time, instantly getting hooked on the game.With her ethic for hard work, Zsofia improved rapidly catching the eye of Béla Tar, Hungary’s top darts coach. He was amazed by her natural talent and the pair have worked together ever since. She works hard practicing up to 3 hours a day, whilst holding down a job as an HR Manager. Zsofia has won many titles in her short career including the Dortmund Open and Austrian Open. Zsofia said “I’m so happy that I’ve got the chance to join the Winmau family, as their faith in me has been a great confidence boost and I’m sure I will improve over the next couple of years to show the way for European ladies darts players. There are so many more ladies playing darts, and it’s really exciting to be a part of”.
